Deon Tumblin a 27 year old male on death row in Texas since 2001 for the strangulation murder of 75 year old Texarkana woman Evelyn Reid, hung himself in his cell at Polunsky Unit prision Livingston Texas. The Reuters report notes ironically enough that there were efforts to resuscitate him. Other pertinent information is that there have been five suicides on death row in Texas since 1974 and that Texas has 447 people on death row, they've executed 19 this year and Texas is the state that executes the most people.
